BIRTH DOULA
Birth is a powerful and surreal experience—but it can also be intense, exhausting, and emotionally and physically demanding. Having continuous support from a trained professional who understands the birth process, offers hands-on comfort techniques, and helps you navigate each stage with confidence is essential to a positive, empowering experience. Your doula supports your preferences, helps you adapt when needed, and ensures you feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor. We offer encouragement, comfort measures, positioning guidance, and help facilitate clear communication between you and your care team—supporting both you and your partner.
Your doula includes two prenatal visits to get to know you, review your birth preferences, discuss interventions, comfort techniques, and answer any questions. You’ll have ongoing phone and email support from the time of hire through two weeks postpartum, with 24/7 on-call support beginning at 37 weeks. Your doula is also on call starting two weeks before your due date.
After birth, your doula remains with you for up to two hours to ensure you’re comfortable, answer questions, assist with feeding if desired, and support a smooth transition into bonding time.
Working with our doula team means built-in backup support, along with a collective depth of knowledge, experience, and resources available to you throughout your journey.

During your doula consultation and throughout labor, your doula will provide:
- Comfort touch, counter-pressure, and acupressure
- Positioning guidance for labor progress and comfort
- Physical comfort measures (hot/cold compresses, dim lighting, bath/shower)
- Continuous emotional support
- Facilitation of communication with your care team
- Information and resources on your options and rights
- Reassurance and support for partners
Two prenatal visits (approximately 2 hours each) will cover birth planning, navigating possible interventions and informed consent, labor positions, comfort techniques, and any questions or concerns you may have.
Within two weeks after your birth, your doula will provide a postpartum visit to review your experience, answer newborn care questions, and offer feeding support if desired.

- Discussion of your birth preferences, birth plan topics to think about, hospital policies and procedures, common provider recommendations, avoiding unnecessary hospital interventions, best ways to manage each stage of labor, things you can be doing in pregnancy to encourage a smoother, well informed, positive birth experience, and any other topics of concern !
- Pertinent resource links, referrals and hand-outs to support our discussion and an empowering and healthy labor and birth
- This is a personalized doula consultation, so whatever is pertinent to your concerns as a birthing person will guide our discussion
